Ryze gains stronger late scaling in League of Legends patch 26.21, but his first Flux damage bonus is smaller. Riot changes Overload’s four amplification tiers from 15% / 40% / 65% / 90% to 10% / 40% / 70% / 100%—an early reduction followed by stronger later tiers.
Riot says the changes aim to reward Ryze for reaching his scaling stages after the early-game nerfs in 26.19. These are changes in the live 26.21 patch, not a new adjustment to the locked Worlds patch.
Read the amplification, not just the final percentage
The opening Flux bonus drops by five percentage points. The second tier stays at 40%, the third rises by five points, and the fourth rises by ten.
That last change does not mean every Overload hit deals 10% more damage. A 90% bonus makes an eligible hit 1.90 times its unamplified damage; a 100% bonus makes it 2.00 times. With the underlying hit held equal, that is about 5.3% more damage at the last tier. At the first tier, the multiplier instead changes from 1.15 to 1.10.
More movement speed across all five ranks
Overload’s bonus movement speed rises from 28% / 32% / 36% / 40% / 44% to 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% / 50%.
Unlike the mixed damage-amplification change, every listed movement-speed rank improves. The increases are two, three, four, five and six percentage points respectively.
Rune Prison keeps its base damage
Rune Prison’s AP ratio increases from 60% to 70% AP. Its 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 base damage and 3% bonus-mana contribution stay the same in the patch notes.
With 500 AP, that ratio change adds 50 damage before mitigation. It strengthens the AP part of Ryze’s scaling without changing the listed bonus-mana coefficient.
