TFT moves out of the League client—existing Little Legends can still follow you into ARAM

November 4 brings a larger download and a separate TFT client. New cosmetics split later, while leaderboards are due back in patch 18.7.

Teamfight Tactics is getting its own PC client with patch 18.6, but the move does not take your existing Little Legends out of League of Legends. Riot dates the launch to November 4, 2026 and says switching between TFT and League will still take a button click.

The immediate cost is a bigger download. Both the TFT 18.6 and League 26.22 notes flag a larger-than-usual patch; TFT also warns that deployment will take longer than normal across PC and mobile. Riot has not supplied one worldwide completion time in those notes.

A separate client, with some features following later

Riot says the first release prioritises functionality and stability. The extra space is intended for TFT-specific features such as richer events, lobby visuals and previews of Tacticians and Arenas.

Those ambitions are not all day-one features. Patch 18.7 is due to bring leaderboards back, make inviting friends easier and improve switching between solo and party lobbies. Riot is also considering PC interface scaling changes after feedback about unused space on larger displays, but has not assigned those changes a patch.

League players who do not want TFT downloads will have to wait: the 26.22 notes put a full opt-out in a future patch, not this one.

The cosmetic split affects new releases

Existing shared cosmetics remain usable in League. The boundary is for new content made for the games’ different engines:

  • Patch 19.1 / December 1: newly released Little Legends stop being available as ARAM followers. The catalogue released before 19.1 remains usable there.
  • Patch 19.2 / December 15: newly released TFT emotes split from League emotes. Earlier emotes remain shared. League’s notes also name icons in the December 15 separation.

A familiar Little Legend following you onto Howling Abyss therefore does not become unusable merely because TFT has a new launcher.

Appreciation rewards arrive with Set 19, not today

Riot’s player-appreciation missions are planned for patch 19.1. Playing one Set 19 game earns 500 Treasure Tokens; playing 20 earns a token for a banner containing only Mythic Chibis, giving one random Mythic Chibi rather than a choice of any Tactician.

Additional compensation depends on ownership before patch 18.7. Owners of a Mythic Tactician or Arena receive two Mythic Medallions; owners of a Prestige Tactician receive an as-yet-unannounced Mythic Chibi. Riot says these ownership-based rewards are delivered automatically on login after 19.1 releases.
