THE CLUTCHSCOPE BUILD DESK

YOUR GAME.
YOUR BUILD.

You do not need to copy a pro’s desk to put together a good gaming PC. Start with the games you play, the screen you own and the money you want to spend.

These are our editorial component selections, not player-used setups or prebuilt computers. Specifications have been compared against manufacturer documentation; we have not assembled or benchmarked these exact systems.

THE LOWER-COST START

Core

A straightforward first esports tower: a six-core CPU, a separate graphics card and 32 GB of memory. The boxed processor keeps the cooling purchase simple. We retain an AM5 motherboard with Wi-Fi rather than cutting every supporting component to the minimum. Start here if your focus is competitive settings at 1080p, then compare the full local basket before buying.

The trade-off. The default RTX 5060 has 8 GB of graphics memory; the Radeon alternative has 16 GB. Capacity alone does not determine performance. Compare tests for your games and settings, not just the memory figure. This is the entry tier of these lists, not a claim to be the cheapest possible PC.

Curated choices for this case and power supply. The list, checklist and shopping links update together. CPU, cooling and power supply stay paired; this is not an unrestricted compatibility checker.

  1. CPU

    AMD Ryzen 5 7600 (boxed)

Six-core AM5 CPU. Buy the boxed 7600 with Wraith Stealth, not a tray chip or 7600X without a cooler.

Manufacturer specifications ↗ View on Amazon US ↗
  2. CPU cooling

AMD Wraith Stealth — included with boxed 7600

Use the bundled cooler at stock CPU settings. No separate cooler purchase is needed.

    Manufacturer specifications ↗
  3. Motherboard

    MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI

ATX, AM5 and DDR5. Use the top PCIe slot for the GPU and M2_1 for the SSD. Confirm the exact board, not the PZ or WIFI6E variant, and its CPU-support BIOS before assembly.

    Manufacturer specifications ↗
  4. Memory

    Kingston FURY Beast 32 GB (2 × 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 — KF560C30BBEK2-32

One matched EXPO kit, not two separate kits. Install in A2/B2. Boot at default memory speed first; 6000 MT/s is an overclocking profile, not a guaranteed result.

    Manufacturer specifications ↗
  5. Storage

    WD_BLACK SN850X 1 TB — WDS100T2X0E

M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe, without a factory heatsink. Use the motherboard M.2 heatsink; do not stack two heatsinks.

    Manufacturer specifications ↗
  6. Graphics card

ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5060 OC 8 GB — PRIME-RTX5060-O8G

268.3 mm long and 2.5 slots. ASUS specifies a 550 W system PSU recommendation. Uses one PCIe 8-pin power connector.

    Manufacturer specifications ↗
  7. Power supply

    Corsair RM650e (2025) — CP-9020302

650 W, ATX 3.1. Use only its supplied modular cables and the regional mains lead. Do not substitute an older RMe revision without checking the cable set.

    Manufacturer specifications ↗
  8. Case

    Corsair 4000D AIRFLOW Black — CC-9011200-WW

ATX case with 360 mm GPU and 170 mm CPU-cooler clearance. These lists use air cooling, so no front radiator reduces the GPU space. Keep the included rear exhaust fan.

THE COMPETITIVE STEP UP

Competitive

A gaming-focused eight-core X3D processor, an air cooler and extra front intake fans form the middle tier. Choose an RTX 5070 or a Radeon RX 9070 XT below, then choose storage to fit your library. The two graphics options are not a promise of equal performance: compare your games, resolution and the features you actually use.

The trade-off. The CPU choice matters most when the game is CPU-limited; it does not guarantee a particular refresh rate. Check benchmarks for your game, resolution and settings before spending more than the Core tier.

THE ENTHUSIAST BUILD

Headliner

Headliner keeps the gaming-focused CPU and adds a 1000 W supply. Its default RTX 5080 targets readers considering more demanding visual settings alongside esports. The RX 9070 XT is a different spending option, not an equivalent replacement for the RTX 5080. Choose it on its own merits, not because both cards have 16 GB.

The trade-off. If you play only low-setting competitive titles, the graphics upgrade may be poor value. This is an enthusiast option, not a requirement for being competitive, and we make no unmeasured FPS promises.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

The parts need to work together.

The AM5 CPUs, DDR5 kit and ATX board share the same platform. The NVMe drive fits the board’s M.2 storage slots. That is the starting point, not a substitute for reading the installation manuals.

Check MSI’s CPU-support and memory-compatibility lists for your exact board and BIOS. Start at stock CPU and JEDEC memory settings; enable EXPO only after a stable first boot. We have not verified this kit on MSI’s QVL, so 6000 MT/s operation is not promised.

Physical fit & power

The selected GPUs range from 240 to 320 mm long against the case’s 360 mm limit. The NH-U12A is 158 mm tall against 170 mm of cooler space. No front radiator is included. Leave room for the GPU power cable; do not force the side panel against it.

The Core choices require 450 or 550 W according to their manufacturers; its supply is 650 W. Competitive uses an 850 W supply for cards specifying 750 W. Headliner uses 1000 W for cards specifying 750 or 850 W. That is a capacity check, not measured system power. Fully seat GPU connectors and use only the cables supplied with that PSU. Changing the GPU, case or PSU means checking fit and power again.

What is not in the tower list?

A monitor, keyboard, mouse, audio equipment, operating-system licence and assembly service. Include those in your real budget. Windows installation media and current motherboard/GPU drivers are also needed. Plug your gaming monitor into the graphics card, not the motherboard output.

Core uses the case’s supplied fans; the other two lists add front intake fans. Fit the cooler using its instructions and supplied thermal interface. After assembly, test memory stability and watch temperatures under load before treating the build as finished.

Shop the list, not a promise

Compare the complete basket locally, including delivery and returns. A newer processor on sale can change the value calculation. We do not claim these are the lowest-priced combinations or attach invented FPS numbers to them.

Some parts currently have manufacturer links only. There is no “buy the whole PC” button until every retail item and quantity has been matched. You can still use the full checklist with your preferred retailer.
