Ulaanbaatar joins BLAST’s 2027 calendar

BLAST Premier Open Ulaanbaatar is announced for 10–23 May 2027 at Steppe Arena, under a partnership between BLAST and the Mongolian Esports Association (MESA). BLAST says 16 teams will compete across two weeks of LAN Counter-Strike.

For fans planning ahead, this is an upcoming 2027 event—not a result from the current season. The published window covers the competition; it does not establish that spectators can attend every day or that every fixture is played at the same hour.

Two places through the Asia Qualifier

BLAST says invitations will use Global VRS rankings and BLAST Premier regional qualifiers, with two places reserved for the Asia Qualifier. Those are routes into the field, not named entrants.

That regional allocation is a useful detail for following the build-up: qualifying results will determine who uses those places. Hosting the tournament in Mongolia does not, by itself, award a slot to a Mongolian team.

What the $1.25 million figure includes

The announcement breaks its US$1,250,000 total into two parts:

  • $500,000 in prize money.
  • $750,000 in team payments.

The combined figure should not be described as a winner’s payout, nor should team payments be silently folded into player prize earnings. A player’s eventual tournament receipts cannot be calculated from this headline alone.

The split also matters when comparing events: compare like-for-like prize money, or clearly state when a total includes separate team payments. Our prize-money guide explains why tournament earnings are not salary or net worth.

What this means for planning a visit

The calendar entry records the announced 10–23 May window. Ulaanbaatar uses UTC+8 during those dates. BLAST’s announcement does not specify individual match start times, so the entry is an all-day date window rather than a timed fixture.
